Progression, skilling & earning gp
Solanascape is 2004 RuneScape with faster rates (5× skilling XP, 5× combat XP, 5× quest gold)
and a player-driven market. You progress like classic RS — train skills, unlock gear, finish quests —
but the endgame loop is selling useful items to other players for gp, then optionally cashing out via the
Grand Exchange or GP Exchange.
Why items matter (even if you only care about gp)
Every gp in circulation came from someone skilling, questing, or trading. There is no welcome gold grant
and the old coin shop is off — so items are the economy.
- Other players buy your loot. Fish, logs, ores, runes, food, and gear listed on the GE sell for gp. Members can pay with SCAPE instead — you claim crypto in the Wallet panel.
- Gear gates content. Better armour and weapons unlock faster kills, safer PvM, and meme/crypto quest turn-ins. Solana storyline gear (recruit → adamant tier) comes from quests, not handouts.
- Consumables always sell. Lobsters, swordfish, runes, and potions are repeat purchases — steady demand even in beta.
- Scarcity items spike. Party hats, dragon gear, and high-tier supplies pay more when bootstrap liquidity thins and player listings set the price.
Bother because: gp alone does not appear from a menu. You either make or buy items, sell them, and compound — same as old-school RS, with an optional SCAPE exit for members.
Phase 1 — First hour (Lumbridge)
- Create account at /play → Tutorial Island → Accept character design → skip tutorial.
- Solana Guide (purple robes, hub square) → Start Initiation.
- Solana Armorer (general store) → free recruit kit. Equip scimitar + body + cape.
- Enable Quest helper (Client Plugins) + open map guides.
- Do nearby meme quests (Pepe, Chillhouse, Sir Larpington) for fast gp bursts.
- Optional:
/verify in chat (close GE first if open) → Discord link code → /link code in Discord.
Phase 2 — Initiation & storyline (days 1–3)
Solana quest chain
Initiation → Forge → Oath → Warden → Arena. Each step grants gear + gp (5× rate on rewards). Track adventures on the Guide — Initiation scimitar needs 15 adventures (~175k gp effective at finish).
Parallel meme/crypto quests

Phase 3 — Skilling for money (classic RS routes)
Rates are 5× XP — you hit viable tiers faster than 2004 live. Pick one path and bank at the GE.
Early (combat 20–40)
- Cows → cowhide → GE (steady starter income).
- Willows (Draynor) → logs → GE or firemaking XP.
- Fishing sardine/trout → cook → GE food listings.
Mid (40–70)
- Iron ore → smelt → GE bars or smith platebodies.
- Lobsters / swordfish — PvM food always sells.
- Nature / law runes if you train Runecrafting — high stack value.
Late (70+)
- Yews / magic logs, runite, dragon bones.
- Barrows/Slayer drops if you run Solana Warden tasks.
- High-end GE flips — buy low player listings, relist (risk + capital).
What not to grind early
- Random low-value junk — check guide prices first.
- Listing without checking live sell offers — undercut active sellers.
- Selling party hats before understanding vault + NFT rules — see about.
Phase 4 — Grand Exchange flow
In-game only — Exchange Clerk at the GE hub (north of Varrock). Close the GE window before typing /verify or public chat commands.
- Sell: side panel → pick item → set price (use guide / lowest sell hints in chat).
- Buy with gp: Browse left panel → Buy on a live listing.
- Buy with SCAPE (members): Browse → Buy SCAPE on a row → Phantom signs → item delivers.
- Collect completed trades in Offers tab.
Treasury bootstrap fills ~532 staples at launch — as player sellers grow, prices become truly market-driven. Hot items = more gp per sale = more SCAPE when buyers pay crypto.
Phase 5 — Cashing out (optional, members)
GP → crypto
List surplus gp on GP Exchange (Wallet panel). Buyers pay SOL/SCAPE; you receive crypto minus 1.5% fee. Requires total level 10+ and membership.
Items → SCAPE
List items on GE. When a member buys with SCAPE, proceeds go to your GE earnings vault — claim in Wallet. Same 1.5% fee model.

Morning: Check GE prices on /economy → list overnight skilling output.
Session: One skill + one quest step (adventure count).
Evening: Collect GE → bank gp → repeat or list on GP Exchange if member.
Social: Arena wagers or meme quests with friends — gp/SOL/SCAPE pits optional.
